We’ve been looking for after-Christmas sales on the Web — the kitschier side of stuff, natch — and have been vaguely disturbed by the inordinate number of angels being depicted as flag-waving, America-first beings.
Scroll down this page for the $1.95 “Angel On My Shoulder Pin Holding American Flag.” This seller offers an angel flying in a Stars and Stripes gown. And this vendor offers an angel “proudly” waving the flag.
We have nothing against the flag, we have nothing against patriotism and we have nothing against angels. But it seems to us that blending them all seems, well, creepy.
